What is Cub Scouts?

Scouts are grouped by grade into Dens, led by parents. They earn their rank by doing — hiking, building, cooking, first aid, service projects. All the families together make up the Pack.

Why Cub Scouts?

Kids practice leading, speaking up, and looking after each other, with service and citizenship woven through the year. Confidence and social skills come from doing, not from a lesson. A Scout today is a leader for tomorrow.

Why Pack 578?

We have served the neighborhoods around Alcott, Dickinson, Ella Baker, Rosa Parks and Wilder since 1994, and families also come from Redmond, Woodinville and Sammamish. Any K–5 family in the area is welcome, whichever school your kid attends. We are 74 Scouts and growing, run entirely by parent volunteers.

1st Tuesdays
Pack Meeting, all families. 75–90 minutes.
2nd Tuesdays
Lion, Tiger and Wolf Dens. 45–60 minutes.
3rd Tuesdays
Bear, Webelos and Arrow of Light Dens. 60–75 minutes.
4th Tuesdays
Pack Committee, adults only, 7:00 PM.

Do parents stay?
A parent stays for Pack Meetings at every grade. At Den meetings, Lion and Tiger parents stay; for Wolf and Bear the Den Leader decides; Webelos and Arrow of Light are drop-off for most meetings. Parents are always welcome to stay, whatever the grade.
